Hardwell scores Radio 538 Dance Smash & SLAM! FM Grand Slam with ‘Cobra’!
Amsterdam, January 23rd 2012 – The biggest radio station of the Netherlands and subsidiary SLAM! FM have crowned Hardwell’s new single ‘Cobra’ with both a 538 Dance Smash as a Grand Slam. ‘Cobra’, which was premiered on MTV USA, received more than 1 million views on YouTube. It is also the official theme song to ID&T event Energy – The Network, one of the biggest indoor events in Europe, taking place on March 3rd in the Jaarbeurs venue in Utrecht.
Hardwell can be seen as one of the most successful producers/DJ’s of today. The 24-year-old Hardwell entered the renowned popularity poll DJ Mag Top 100 as the highest Dutchman, on number 24. In 2010 and 2011, Hardwellhad international success with his collaborations with Tiësto and Chuckie, as well as remixes for the likes of Taio Cruz, Armin van Buuren and Martin Solveig. Today, his new track ‘Spaceman’, will be released worldwide.
Robbert van de Corput, better known as Hardwell, has been busy creating music since the age of six. When he turned 13 he started his DJ career, to sign his first record deal only a year later. After making name as a DJ, he scored his first hit in 2008 with ‘Never Knew Love’. In 2009, his international breakthrough was a fact, when his ‘Show Me Love vs. Be’ bootleg of the Robin S. classic and Steve Angello & Laidback Luke track headed up the charts.
Hardwell toured the entire globe in 2011 and was invited to play at both the American tour as well as several Privilege Ibiza residency nights of Tiësto. He is the resident DJ of the world-famous Las Vegas club Marquee and started his very own, weekly radio show called ‘Hardwell On Air’ on SLAM! FM and US station Sirius XM. In March 2010, the young talent joined forces with Cloud 9 Music to set up his very own Revealed Recordings. After 1,5 years, Revealed can be seen as one of the most popular labels of the progressive house scene. The label doesn’t only release Hardwell’s productions and collaborations, but also tracks of new talents that fit the sound of the label.
