In the early 90’s DJ Paul Elstak arises as one the pioneers of the hardcore scene as well as starting world’s first hardcore label: Rotterdam Records.In 1994 Happy Hardcore hits the scene. This music with its happy melodies and vocals is unlike Hardcore, easily accessible for the mainstream audience and very radio friendly.
In the years that followed there was a massive ‘Happy Hardcore’ explosion even finding its way to many charts. Because Happy Hardcore was so booming al lot of people came in touch with Hardcore, making sure that the Hardcore scene wasn’t left behind in reaching its peak.In those days Paul Elstak decided to join the Happy Hardcore craze resulting in to massive hits: Don't Leave Me Alone, The Promised Land, Life Is Like A Dance, Luv U More and Rainbow In The Sky.
Not everyone in the Hardcore scene could appreciate his Happy Hardcore escapade. After this endeavor Paul decided to fully focus on hardcore by starting his own label: Offensive Records.
Years laters people all over the world see Paul Elstak as a living legend and seen by many other generations as the frontman for Hardcore as well as the Happy Hardcore scene.
